Having first emerged on the live circuit around a year ago, London trio MYSTYRYS have caught our attention this week with their debut release. The double A-side single is available in a nice cassette package and even comes with some pretty stickers for the aesthetically minded. Essentially however, it’s the songs that are the stand out factor in this release – as it always should be.

Delivered through a haze of effects, both tracks although quite different from each other call to mind the sound of DIY favourites Crushed Beaks. Vocals are delivered in a similar withdrawn way and the guitar parts chime out as if the two bands share the same love for saturated reverb. But then again, that’s a love we all share, right?
