We could hark on about the “anonymity” of this “mysterious” London act but one quite speedy google was able to tell First On the identity of - or at least the brains behind - Night Works (the revealing information has since been taken down from Loose Lips Records’ website - loose lips being quite an apt name, if you ask me). We won’t reveal the identity behind the enigma, for fear of being hunted down by the mystery police, but if you want a clue, there’s various links to other existing bands.

Anyway, the mystery tactic has come good. People have flocked towards debut track/video ‘I Tried So Hard’ with sustained enthusiasm. Its looped, evolving synthwork is smooth, stylish and deftly applied. The bass line hooks you in, the vocals adding another luscious layer on top of the sound structure. Long live the anonymity.
