Their formula consists of heavy Brit-rock influence, but with a US twist. From songs with the obvious heart-pouring-out-on-to-the-street, to spazzy lyrics with beats to make you dance. Their first full-length album ‘Polite Gothic’, was a breaking point for NRWO as they started to play shows outside Florida. They have showcased in Los Angeles, New York, and more recently, Texas’ SXSW. They have now just released second album ‘Hello Mysterious’.

The first time we came across Nothing Rhymes With Orange was when they were opening for Scout Niblett and The Kills at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale. A negative review (elsewhere) drove bassist Travis Rosen to remark ”we drew more than the 2 signed acts and you shouldn’t throw a jab at and write off a band that you didn’t even see play’.

Since then we’ve tagged along to see the band play in pretty much any kind of venue there was - from beach bars to pubs with bad audio, to auditoriums, night clubs with an attendance of less than a handful of people. They’ve had the glory shows when they’d bring in more than the headliners, and opened for the likes of Louis XIV and Shout Out Louds.

NRWO are about to play a few shows in England. You can catch them at:
