Paradise

Neu Paradise

Dodgy Hawaiian shirts and escapist sun-kissed pop. It’s not a new concoction, but Paradise will fill your summery vibes thirst.

You can feel the sunrays erupting from Paradise before their dreamy synths and mesmerising harmonies flurry into your ears. Songs are entitled ‘Endless Wave’ and ‘Blue Flowers’ but if that isn’t enough to fulfil your summery vibes thirst, they also have a press photo exploding in colour due to the vast collection of flowers and wacky Hawaiian shirts. It’s irresistible.

Debut single ‘Endless Wave’ eases in with soothing synths, as vocals echo Dan Whitford of Cut Copy. Paradise soon awake from their gentle lull, as the track bursts away from its dazed beginnings into a bundle of exuberant life as catchy melodies leave a woozy, delirious feel. If ‘Endless Wave’ was the soundtrack to everyone dancing round a bonfire in a drunken haze, then ‘Blue Flower’ (a cover of the Slapp Happy original) is the moment spent watching the dying embers burn out.

Paradise may not be breaking any new ground but they are one of the most fun and youthful bands we have heard in a long time.

The ‘Endless Wave/ Blue Flower’ single is out now on Blue Rider.
