Oxford, despite its small size, is a city which can boast a rich alternative music heritage and the areas latest offering Poledo will do that reputation no harm at all.
Despite that rich heritage however, the band seem to draw more on the influence of 90’s American subculture. Their name derives from a song by Dinosaur Jr. and the sound is not all that dissimilar to the grunge-rock veterans. The lead track from Poledo’s debut EP, ‘Laura Palmer Is Dead’ is a Twin Peaks-referencing tour de force, released as a free single last week through Art Is Hard Records.

With Poledo’s EP the band venture through lo-fi noisey pop via. masterful shoegazing washes with great effect. The end results are six entirely satisfying songs which demonstrate more than enough talent to turn heads.

Poledo’s EP ‘Kids Don’t Follow’ is released 30th of June on Reeks Of Effort Records.
