Latitude 2015 Prides: “We’re always excited to play! It’s the best bit!”

The Scottish trio will be introducing their debut album to the Latitude crowd this evening.

It’s only been a week since Prides released their debut album but needless to say, they’ve been busy. Having already performed at their own sort-of-hometown festival up in T in the Park, the Glasgow-based trio are understandably looking forward to introducing ‘The Way Back Up’ to the Latitude crowd this evening.

“It was amazing,” enthuses frontman Stewart Brock, thinking back a week to their slot at T in the Park. “It was one of the most fun shows we’ve ever played, especially being on the main stage. It was the first time we’d ever played a stage of that size and to have so many people turn up and go for it was amazing. It was just such good fun.” As for the issues that seemed to concern the fest in general, well, a band like Prides wouldn’t let something like that affect them… “As far as we were concerned,” admits the band’s Callum Wiseman, “we turned up at a place and there was a T in the Park there. It doesn’t matter what happened before that, or what happened after. We arrived, they put a stage underneath us and it happened!”

With their debut now firmly out in the open, it’s no surprise that the three-piece are excited about having their audience finally have a hard copy of the tracks. “That’s the main thing,” says Brock. “Even with songs that we’ve already been playing for a little while, it’s just nice that they’re finally released into the world, so people can become more familiar with them. Now it’s definitely all about playing the songs live.”

As for their set at Latitude this evening, well… “t’s been a manic couple of weeks but it’s going amazing so we’re happy,” continues Brock. “We’re always excited to play!” “It’s the best bit!” adds in Wiseman, before the frontman finishes up. “The site is beautiful and the Lake Stage looks ridiculous. I can’t wait, it’s gonna be a fun one I think.”

Prides play The Lake Stage tonight at 9pm.
