Montreal band fixated on unrelenting, arms aloft excitement.

It’s an obvious reference point, crossing paths between two loud Canadian guitar/drum duos capable of building skyscrapers in the unassuming ears of any casual listener. But these two bands - Japandroids and the more recent Solids - have things within their power that other bands lack. There’s a rejoice when they play live that’s somehow tangible on record. It crosses over so much, it’s like being able to reach out through a pair of speakers and land in the heady, sweaty studio itself these bands play songs in.
Solids’ ‘Blame Confusion’ debut lands worldwide early next year, following on from a couple of self-released 7’ singles and the brilliantly titled ‘Generic Dogs’ EP. There’s no dogs to be seen here. Just unrelenting, arms aloft excitement; a picture perfect collection of songs that aim skywards and don’t look back for one sorry second.
Solids’ ‘Blame Confusion’ is released on 18th February 2014.
