WHO’S MAKING WAVES?
Perish the thought thatAnimal Collective didn’t fill the oddball pop quota with ‘Centipede Hz’, an influx of new bands inspired by their tye-dye psychedelia are emerging out of the cracks. Peace Arrow are the finest. Shy in revealing too much about themselves for the time being, there are some curious little lyrical tidbits to discover on their bandcamp page, all for discovering while listening to ‘Gems’.

FURTHER NEU BUSINESS

As if one of the most seductive songs of the past year couldn’t become more enlivening and beautiful: Rhye’s (pictured, above) ‘The Open’, in all its acoustic, stripped-back quality, ought to soundtrack every late night for the foreseeable future. An album’s worth of this kind of material and we’ll be well and truly struck down by cupid.
