THE SONG
VISUALS - Goodbye

Doesn’t matter than this is a good five months old (sidenote: what the heck were Visuals thinking releasing this at the tail end of Autumn in the first place? Pfft). If a song sounds like Beck sipping on a Capri Sun and going gospel, you’ve gotta take nothing eventually. The Brooklyn two-piece working their magic on this track are better known as Andrew Fox and Marshall Ryan. This might even nudge Jagwar Ma off our recently composed ‘bands most likely to soundtrack this coming summer’ list.

OTHER NEU BUSINESS
Polaroids - Pillowside

It’s due time, in our Instagram, put-a-vintage-sheen-on-a-perfectly-nice-picture culture, that a band come out and call themselves Polaroids. But I’m gonna forgive this Boston resident, just this once, because he sounds a bit like Daughn Gibson stuck in a lift and because his songs are at once built on retro ideas and heading for pastures new at the same time. It’s smart and dumb in equal measure, intentionally simplistic but clearly produced by a clever sod.
