THE GIG
SOHN - London, Electrowerkz
It’s only taken a year of people demanding it, but SOHN has finally arrived in London to play his first shows in his ‘second city’ of sorts. The Vienna-based producer played the Electrowerkz last night - this is the second of two sold out nights.
THE SONG
Lolawolf - Wanna Have Fun (Jaytram of Sinkane Remix) [DIY Premiere]
Also playing tonight: Lolawolf. The project of Zoe Kravitz, Reputante members James Levy, Raviv Ullman and full-time producer Jimmy Giannopoulos; this is their debut gig. Playing alongside Reputante at the Shacklewell Arms, Dalston, DIY’s been handed a stirring taster of what to expect. Sinkane member Jaytram spins some delectable synthetics through the original, but it doesn’t sap away any of ‘Wanna Have Fun”s initial pop sheen. Kravitz’s vocals get backed by looped electronics that could be coming right out of a Gameboy. It’s chaos. But throughout it all, she remains the complete focus. Expect tonight’s show to be the same.
Lolawolf play London’s Shacklewell Arms tonight.
