News The Neu Bulletin (19th September 2012)
The Child Of Lov and Amusement feature in Neu’s daily recommendations of acts to see live and new music to adore.
Neu’s daily guides to new music both in the flesh and on the stereo continues as we recommend a big night in London and news of one of our most-tipped acts signing to a label beloved.
WHO’S PLAYING WHERE? Amusement have been biding their time over the past few months. We first fell for their ambitious pop structures way back in June of 2011 and after building their live set to something of serious promise, they hibernated, so to speak. Out of the wilderness they come with a show in Dalston, tonight. It’s free.
Amusement play Dalston’s Birthdays tonight.
WHO’S MAKING WAVES?
There’s something so fittingly autumnal about Areca Grove’s debut track. It flutters by, working just as effectively as background music as it might an intense listen. Road-trip music or late-night pondering companion, ‘Colour Test’ is a gorgeous introduction. Neu will be telling you a fair bit more about this band in the near future. Stream Areca Grove, ‘Colour Test’ below. It’s released on 6th October through Good Oscillations.
FURTHER NEU BUSINESS
Don’t say we didn’t warn you. We first told you about The Child Of Lov back in May, his soulful melodramatic funk-pop a source of true standalone intrigue. And now he’s signed to Domino/Double Six for a forthcoming release and above is a trailer for that album. That’s the end of our humble brag. Stream it above.
