THE SONG
Gunwaif - Playgue
Playgue by Gunwaif
It’s a smart title, is ‘Playgue’. The debut track from Gunwaif does indeed lurk up on the scene, scout out all sources of life and wipe them out with a masterstroke. But there is a playful element to it. Hey, who said something horrifically morbid couldn’t be fun? This is the sound of a grim reaper doing pirouettes in between each of his deathly strikes.
OTHER NEU BUSINESS
Female - Night
If Bon Iver was a nightcrawler, a hound lurking in darkened alleys, he might sound a little like this ‘Night’ track from Melbourne producer Female. After all, it’s Justin Vernon’s vocals that beautifully form the murky depths of this song, interspersed with canine-like howls and gnawing trap drums. Something about Female’s productions make you want to immerse yourself to the very top in grizzly sin.
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
