New music guide The Neu Bulletin (1st July 2014)

Kult Country head up Neu’s batch of new music tips, also featuring LANY.

The Neu Bulletin is a daily update of the most exciting new things DIY’s listening to. Some of the music you’ll like, some of it you won’t. Think of it as a stream of recommendations that every so often pops up something spectacular.

Every day we offer up a choice show, a song of the day (branched under the understated heading “Big Neu Thing”) and a little something extra that’s caught our attention. Check back here every day for your latest Neu Bulletin delivery.

Kult Country - London, Sebright Arms

Limbering up for their biggest London show to date, Manchester’s Kult Country are celebrating the release of their dark and devilish new single ‘Trembling Moon’/’Atlas Haze’. It’s a work that gives life to spiralling, foggy noise rock, the kind that ought to excel in a live setting, complete with shaking walls and blown eardrums, presumably.

Text-speak lives again. Los Angeles’ LANY are ensuring as much, spilling into view with disco-spliced soul pop that’s as resplendent as it is forward-leaning. ‘BRB’ and ‘ILYSB’ - a duo of new tracks - back up promising debuts with the slickest pop imaginable, wooing its way into outer space with sweet grace. Stream both cuts below.
