Features The Neu Bulletin (21st February 2014)
Neu’s Friday new music guide, featuring Eyedress and Foreign/National.
The Neu Bulletin is a daily update of the most exciting new things DIY’s listening to. Some of the music you’ll like, some of it you won’t. We can’t please everyone, sorry.
Every day we offer up a choice show, a song of the day (branched under the understated heading “big Neu thing”) and a little something extra that’s caught our attention. Check back here every day for your latest Neu Bulletin delivery.
THE GIG
Eyedress - London, Sebright Arms
Abeano-signed Eyedress has year by year upped the anti on his Philippine-bred pop. Hooks have gotten sharper, ideas more refined. Tonight’s headline show at the Sebright Arms is a rare chance to see Idris Vicuña in the flesh.
THE BIG NEU THING
Foreign/National - All Honesty
It shuffles and it spits, practically stepping on the minions daring enough to cross its path, but Foreign/National’s new track isn’t a threatening being. The Aussie reverb-soakers first stirred with ‘Paris’, which we featured at the end of 2013. Since then their charming, gentleman-ly take on pop has stayed even more resolute, this time recruiting double bass to its shimmying shake.
