News The Neu Bulletin (24th October 2012)

Your mandatory dose of new music recommendations, chosen by Neu.

Neu’s got you covered for new music recommendations and nights out this week. Each day we’ll give you a choice gig, plus a selection of fresh artists to check out.

THE GIG
Seams, Face + Heel support Breton - London Scala

The last time Neu saw James Welch aka. Seams was at Brighton’s Great Escape, where he exceeded our expectations by a ridiculous degree by filling out a gigantic Corn Exchange venue with his warm progressive glow of electronic perfection. London’s Scala is a similarly mammoth challenge, but in one of Breton’s biggest shows to date, Welch and Face + Heel will provide thrilling, intriguing support slots. Be sure to get your hands on Seams’ ‘Tourist/Sleeper’ EP release on Full Time Hobby if that’s somehow gone under your radar.

Seams & Face + Heel support Breton at the London Scala, tonight.

THE SONG
Cherry Glazerr - Bloody Bandaid

If Clementine Creevy is the actual name of Cherry Glazerr’s frontwoman, we’ll be damned. But alongside Hannah Uribe and Sophia Miller the three-piece record lo-fi tracks in L.A., all laced with a sense of longing and frustration. I think these guys need to get ready to travel the world, because ‘Bloody Bandaid’ is one hell of a track, worthy of being played in every grimy pub venue the world over, and then maybe some huge festival stages once things get going.

FURTHER NEU BUSINESS

Keep an eye out tomorrow, as Angel Haze drops her new mixtpae. If ‘Classick’ contains more of the above, we’ll be treated - well, I say treated, by the subject content is a touch harrowing - to some of her most confessional, striking material yet. Stream the Eminem-sampling cover of sorts, ‘Cleaning Out My Closet’.
