The Yawns, Spread Eagle, Post - Glasgow, Nice ‘N Sleazy

With one of the year’s most underrated albums under their belts Glasgow’s The Yawns root themselves in Nice ‘N Sleazy for tonight’s show, their self-titled debut ringing up alongside new groups Spread Eagle and Post. Details.

Deco Child - Skinless Pt. 1

Ben Dodson hangs out every note longer than it’s welcome. Each one leers and surveys the scene, showing no signs of coming an abrupt halt. But all the same, every note, endless as it might be, deserves to last forever. This bold foray of Deco Child’s, fusing soft electronics, all collapsing into one grand crescendo, is the stuff of wild dares. It’s not a guy outstaying his welcome but one reaping rewards for taking that further step.

Flower Festival - Shivver
Shivver by Flower Festival

Summer is on its way, open your arms and embrace. Flower Festival sure as hell know how to do just that, judging by this low-key, bedroom project’s latest offering in ‘Shivver’. It has the essence of sunshine, sand and sea flowing through its chords. Granted we’ve heard our fair share of dream pop projects over the last few years (even in these Bulletins over the past five days), but when a track’s this hook-heavy and relentlessly catchy it becomes nigh on impossible to reduce to a mere genre.
