News The Neu Bulletin (26th September 2012)

Your new music medicine, curated by Neu. Featuring F.U.R.S and Isle.

The middle of the week could bring a slight period of rest for those incapable of heading out to a new music showcase every night of the week, but there is one get-together which we’re particularly excited about:

Find someone in the audience, raise their arms up high, in knots with yours, and shout out loud for F.U.R.S(pictured, above), before having to subsequently avoid the feds. The band play a Jen Long (Radio 1 Introducing DJ) presents show alongside some similarly exciting fresh faces.

F.U.R.S join a bill with Mode Moderne, Best Days and Kappa Gamma at the Queen of Hoxton, London. £4 on the door. Details here.

If, like me, you spent a vast chunk of the past summer immersed in The Antlers’ most recent aquatically-inclined EP, you’ll be a fan of Pensacola-based five-piece Isle. Rumours have it they used to have an ‘s’ at the end of their name, before removing it to avoid the copyright hounds (we’re guessing). That’s the least important facet of the band - what you need to know is that they’ve a gorgeous, luscious track to their name in the form of ‘Bayview’, and it represents summer at its most relaxing, beautiful peak.

This is an interesting one. PINS first released their own material through a self-funded cassette label: HAUS OF PINS. Now it seems the label is venturing into releasing exciting new talent from further afar: KING DJ makes for one thrilling, challenging listen, like if Dirty Beaches went full-blown ‘Badlands’ and decided to stick for straight-up rock’n’roll.
