New music guide The Neu Bulletin (27th April 2015)

DIY’s new music tips, featuring Broncho and Leyya.

The Neu Bulletin is a daily update of the most exciting new things DIY’s listening to. Think of it as a stream of recommendations that every so often pops up something spectacular. Most of these are Bandcamp finds, big ups from readers or cheeky submissions that pop out the inbox.

Every day we offer up a choice show, a song of the day (branched under the understated heading “Big Neu Thing”) and a little something extra that’s caught our attention. Check back here every day for your latest Neu Bulletin delivery and follow our ‘Listen’-tag for everything new music related.

Broncho (w/ The Districts)

Brighton, Green Door Store

This Saturday, Broncho form a ridiculously exciting DIY Presents bill at Live at Leeds. They’ll be huddling into the Brudenell Social Club with The Magic Gang, Black Honey and Spring King. Ahead of the new music extravaganza, though, they’re touring the country with DIY favourites The Districts. Tonight sees the Oklahoma group landing at Brighton’s Green Door Store - they play London Scala tomorrow night (28th April).

Leyya - Superego

Most people’s heads would explode if they ended up making a song like ‘Superego’, the latest self-esteem-boosting gloss-pop to arrive from Vienna’s Leyya. It sounds like it could’ve been produced by Timbaland, and it takes traditional pop structures before sending them into hyperspace. A bold effect, determined to shake foundations from the very first second.
