Chet Faker and Pink Elephants feature in today’s new music guide.

The Neu Bulletin is a daily update of the most exciting new things DIY’s listening to. Some of the music you’ll like, some of it you won’t. We can’t please everyone, sorry.

Every day we offer up a choice show, a song of the day (branched under the understated heading “big Neu thing”) and a little something extra that’s caught our attention. Check back here every day for your latest Neu Bulletin delivery.

THE GIG
Chet Faker - London, Koko

This sold out London show sees Australian crooner Chet Faker put the wheels in motion for a huge year. He’s just released his debut album ‘Built on Glass’ and he’s already the most popular thing down under since Flume/Neighbours.

THE BIG NEU THING
Raury - Sunshine

The hype surrounding Raury’s reached overdrive. We’ve tried to connect with the musician behind ‘God’s Whisper’, but apparently he’s still finishing school, as if anyone needed any further reason to be jealous of the man behind one of 2014’s breakthrough tracks. On ‘Sunshine’, he recruits a mysterious vocalist (going by the name of Ari) sounding not too dissimilar to SZA, opting for a slicker, more sparse approach to the future-folk fusion that graced his debut. Linking moody verses with cutting delivery, the method behind ‘Sunshine’ is hard to pinpoint, but the talent behind it is evident from the off.

OTHER NEU BUSINESS
Pink Elephants - Don’t You Go

It drifts and drifts, the latest from San Diego’s Bradley Coy. The bedroom-bound musician apologises for tiny flaws and minute errors alongside the upload of ‘Don’t You Go’, but they’re not distinguishable within this sweet ether dose of dream-pop. Percussion patterns into a strange kind of crescendo, where triumph and epic peaks are replaced with an ever greater gloominess. It’s undeniably fascinating though, the way in which Coy gives so much with so few tools.
