Beliefs, MYSTYRYS, Playlounge, Soft Arrows - London, The Old Blue Last

The OBL’s just about recovered from last week’s 313th birthday celebrations, and it’s hosting a feast of a bill tonight, with some of the country’s finest frenzied punks joining headliners Beliefs, from Toronto.

Satchmode - Old Fears

Satchmode are duo Gabe Donnay and Adam Boukis, whose debut track ‘Old Fears’ is concerned with optimism and belying the lie their title might suggest. The L.A. based duo create a sense of weightlessness before a warm climax that’s equivalent to a journey from deep space headfirst into the sun. A beautiful confluence of ambient, synth-based soundscapes and pop harmonies, it reaches a much further distance than they probably would’ve planned. [Sean Stanley]
