THE SONG
Al Lover - Snake Hands (feat. White Fence)
San Franciscan psych producer has been active for a couple of years remixing the likes of Thee Oh Sees, Suicide, Grinderman and Fuzz while creating perfectly crafted mixtapes of the best in psychedelia and garage. Now he’s set to release his debut 7’ via London/Stockholm label PNKSLM and on the brilliant ‘Snake Hands’ he’s joined by Tim Presley, aka White Fence, on vocals and guitars. The result is a mesmerizing and thrilling track on which Presley shines on guitar over Al Lover’s unique psychedelic wall of sound. [Johan Alm]
OTHER NEU BUSINESS
Luxury - Never Love
West Londoner Luxury stays true to the title. You’re automatically inclined to think about a life outside of scummy flats and what not. Instead there’s gold, lots of it, and maybe some gigantic swimming pools. Alright Kendrick, we’ll fill them with liquor if you fancy.
‘Never Love’ is one of a duo of tracks unveiled to date. Clever beatwork and some emotionally-wrung vocal samples bring it to life, giving every indication that money talks.
Festival special! Featuring Wolf Alice, Kasabian, Lykke Li, Marmozets, Genesis Owusu and more.
