New music guide The Neu Bulletin (6th February 2015)

DIY’s new music tips, featuring Telegram and RAYE.

The Neu Bulletin is a daily update of the most exciting new things DIY’s listening to.Think of it as a stream of recommendations that every so often pops up something spectacular. Most of these are Bandcamp finds, big ups from readers or cheeky submissions that pop out of the inbox.

Every day we offer up a choice show, a song of the day (branched under the understated heading “Big Neu Thing”) and a little something extra that’s caught our attention. Check back here every day for your latest Neu Bulletin delivery and follow our ‘Listen’-tag for everything new music related.

London, Hoxton Bar & Kitchen

Telegram brought the hustling glam to DIY’s London all-dayer at the Laundry last October. Still moving to their own rhythm, with a debut album in the works, this Saturday they headline Hoxton Bar & Kitchen for a celebration in nostalgia-lined rock.

THE BIG NEU THING:
RAYE - Flowers

“I don’t intend on getting sidetracked,” sings RAYE on her most determined, steadfast song to date. Up to now, the Londoner’s fused R&B and harsh pop truths with a neat balance. ‘Flowers’ sees her stepping things up a few notches, adding a side-splitting suckperpunch to an already bold sound. This South London talent’s got plenty more to give, too.
