New music guide The Neu Bulletin (6th June 2014)

Neu’s daily new music tips contain Get Inuit and All We Are.

The Neu Bulletin is a daily update of the most exciting new things DIY’s listening to. Some of the music you’ll like, some of it you won’t. Think of it as a stream of recommendations that every so often pops up something spectacular.

Every day we offer up a choice show, a song of the day (branched under the understated heading “Big Neu Thing”) and a little something extra that’s caught our attention. Check back here every day for your latest Neu Bulletin delivery.

THE GIG:
Field Day - Various, London Victoria Park

London’s biggest get-together Field Day takes place this weekend, and amongst the pick of the new bands, you’ve got All We Are (pictured), Jamie Isaac and exciting producer SOPHIE standing out on the Saturday bill. By the time attention turns to Sunday and the field’s been brought back to a healthy state, Shy Nature, The Wytches and PANES grace the multi-stage fest. You could spend your weekend watching heavyweights like Sky Ferreira and Pixies, or you could keep it new band-centric.

THE BIG NEU THING:
Get Inuit - Cutie Pie, I’m Bloated

Not everybody’s going to fall in love with Get Inuit’s cutesy punk, but those that do will obsess over it posters on the bedroom wall, insane Instagram accounts-style. This won’t just be fandom, it’ll be all-out madness. ‘Cutie Pie, I’m Bloated’ (what a title, by the way) is a kicking and screaming introduction to the Kent four-piece.

OTHER NEU BUSINESS:
Liu Bei - Atlas World

The second half of a debut single on Transgressive imprint paradYse, Lui Bei instantly shake off accusations that they’re a more inexperienced version of Manchester’s MONEY. First track ‘Infatuation’ shook the walls, looked up to church spires. Its other half ‘Atlas World’ is a different beast. Again it’s made out of choral, sombre parts, but it’s electronic-led, finding sweet relief in empty space.
