New music guide The Neu Bulletin (7th April 2015)

DIY’s new music tips, featuring KLOË and Fufanu.

The Neu Bulletin is a daily update of the most exciting new things DIY’s listening to. Think of it as a stream of recommendations that every so often pops up something spectacular. Most of these are Bandcamp finds, big ups from readers or cheeky submissions that pop out of the inbox.

Every day we offer up a choice show, a song of the day (branched under the understated heading “Big Neu Thing”) and a little something extra that’s caught our attention. Check back here every day for your latest Neu Bulletin delivery and follow our ‘Listen’-tag for everything new music related.

Fufanu (w/ The Vaccines)

Norwich, UEA LCR

Reykjavik’s Fufanu are currently touring the UK with The Vaccines, bringing their fuzz-soaked, shoegaze-leaning pop to the biggest audiences yet. The duo’s roots lie in techno, and there’s an electronic pulse circuiting a song like ‘Goodbye’ (above), all emphasis on the art of repetition.

KLOË - Feel

KLOË’s direct, sugar-soaked pop won’t be a secret for long. Her debut ‘Grip’ track turned heads at the tailend of 2014, and the glitzy ‘Feel’ goes even further in twisting melodrama to a synth-drenched purpose. Like Lana Del Rey if she traded Hollywood for a night in Berghain, this is a strobe-backed blast of excitement. Lewis Gardiner of Prides is on the production desk.
