WHO’S PLAYING WHERE? Recent DIY Mag interviewees Sunless ‘97 top a bill at Brighton’s Green Door Store, with support from Great Pagans and Cells.
London’s Power Lunches hosts Sharm El Shakes, as well as F.U.R.S and Neu staple Gabriel Bruce, who headlines.
And the excellent Fear of Men (pictured) play the Shacklewell Arms.
WHO’S MAKING WAVES? U.S. blog Yvynyl introduced people to the work of Freelove Fenner yesterday. They’ve a forthcoming cassette E.P. on Fixture Records, and this lead track ‘Pineapple Hair’ is a brilliantly oddball exercise in blending the trippy and the imaginative with the astute and the acerbic.
FURTHER NEU BUSINESS
UK producer Duke Dumont is prepping a two-track EP, ‘For Club Play Only Vol. 2’, on Turbo Recordings. The thing is, on the strength of ‘The Giver’, this new work is going to be played in more than just clubs. This track is so fresh, so danceable, that you can imagine it spreading like wildfire.
