The Neu Bulletin is a daily update of the most exciting new things DIY’s listening to. Think of it as a stream of recommendations that every so often pops up something spectacular. Most of these are Bandcamp finds, big ups from readers or cheeky submissions that pop out of the inbox.

Every day we offer up a choice show, a song of the day (branched under the understated heading “Big Neu Thing”) and a little something extra that’s caught our attention. Check back here every day for your latest Neu Bulletin delivery and follow our ‘Listen’-tag for everything new music related.

THE BIG NEU THING:
United Fruit - Ghost Inside Your Head

A rapturous introduction, ‘Ghost Inside Your Head’ is the sound of Glasgow four-piece United Fruit giving anthemia a new charge. Unashamedly huge and arena-ready, it’s all about the atmosphere on this track, soaring from heady, reverb-drenched verses to the kind of gung-ho chorus that’ll break down barriers in no time.

Catch United Fruit at the following SXSW dates - 10pm, Wednesday 18th March at Karma Lounge and 3pm Saturday 21st March at British Embassy.

OTHER NEU BUSINESS:
Turtle - Silent Weapons

Scottish newcomer Turtle keeps on re-drawing the line between producer and songwriter. On ‘Silent Weapons’, he almost ditches electronic tools altogether, using ghostly synths as an eerie backdrop to a looped, acoustic guitar line. It’s Turtle’s most striking work to date, a lesson in how to combine two distinct worlds.
