New Music Guide The Neu Bulletin (Cosha, ViVii, Kwamie Liv & more)

DIY’s essential, weekly guide to the best new music.

Neu Bulletins are DIY’s guide to the best new music. They contain every single thing that’s been played at full volume in the office, whether that’s a small handful or a gazillion acts. Just depends how good the week’s been.

Alongside our weekly round-up of discoveries, there are also Neu Picks. These are the very best songs / bands to have caught our attention, and there’s a new one every weekday. Catch up with the most recent picks here.

ViVii - Savant

The title track to their debut EP and the follow up to their debut single ‘Siv (You & I)’, Swedish dream-pop trio ViVii are back with ‘Savant’, a track that pairs dreamy vocals with a delicately plucked guitar line and a washing of synths. The band are signed to Stockholm label Dumont Dumontwith - also home to Ry X, Charlie Cunningham and Josin - so if you’re a fan, you’ll be happy to know the full EP dropped last week.

Cosha - Do You Wanna Dance

Cosha - formerly known as Bonzai - is back with a new name, new identity and, if we’re honest, a pretty epic new song. Taken from her upcoming mixtape ‘R.I.P Bonazi’, the Dublin native’s debut track under her new moniker is an incredibly addictive and upbeat pop banger, produced by Rostam, who’s known for his work with the likes of Frank Ocean, Solange and Haim. With twinkling synths and a understated beat that builds into a winding, triumphant chorus, it’s definitely a track that’ll have you hitting replay.

PURRPURR - Aldrig som dig

It’s not too often we find a Swedish language song that we’re fans of, but we’ll make an exception for ‘Aldrig Som Dig’. Roughly translating as ‘Never Like You’, it’s the debut track from Swedish duo PURRPURR, the project of Felix Hedberg and Tobias Widman, and is a glistening indie-pop tune that’s got us dreaming of summer already. It’s a promising start for whatever the band do next.

Kwamie Liv - Sweet Like Brandy

You may remember Danish-Zambian artist Kwamie Liv from her 2016 tracks ‘5am’ and ‘Follow You’ and now she’s back with ‘Sweet Like Brandy’. A slow-moving, cinematic track complete with a self-directed video, Kwamie’s new offering is a rich, textured look into intimacy and hopefully the beginning of a series of new releases for the singer.
