Wild Cub is the Nashville based duo comprised of film composer-come-singer/songwriter Keegan Dewitt and the multi-talented Jeremy Bullock. The pair seem intent on providing a refreshing blend of musical styles; mixing strong elements of guitar-pop with a striking electronic synth appeal, all wonderfully exemplified in tracks such as ‘Wild Light’ and ‘Colour’, taken from their debut LP: ‘Youth’.

There’s plenty to feast on: For one, there’s a darker, melancholy side purveyed through ‘Drive’ and the band’s latest offering ‘Streetlights’; a sultry, low-tempo track that shines light upon Dewitt’s vocals, accompanied by a simple string composition and gentle rhythm section. There’s also the small matter of a music video that presents four-minutes worth of black and white images of two lovers. Sure, you might think you’ve seen that sort of thing before - Rhye, for example, played a very similar hand earlier in the year - but this pair provide something wholly refreshing. All small steps amounting to one big impression, and Wild Cub seem set to progress even further with their gripping brand of experimental pop.
