Competition Closed: Win Chromeo’s new album ‘White Women’ on vinyl

The duo released their newest effort earlier this year, and we’ve five copies to give away.

Chromeo have hit headlines this month by partnering - unusually for a band - with Canadian airline Mallard Air, becoming “prime equity holders” and spokespersons for the company. It’s a budget airline that at the band’s request is now slated to offer boutique service to Montreal, Minneapolis and Beirut. So if you’re based in either of the latter two, expect a lot of upcoming gigs from them in your area.

“When Mallard approached us about share acquisition, we thought it was a joke,” explains Chromeo frontman Dave 1. “But when we got to know the people behind the airline, a creative and dynamic group of engineers and venture capitalists, this partnership made total sense. Besides, our business managers always encouraged us to diversify our investments. For a band like us, this feels bold and new.”

The next best thing to having your own private jet, eh?

In less odd news, the duo also released an album this year. ‘White Women’ is the band’s fourth full-length, the follow up to 2010’s ‘Business Casual’, and features guest contributions from Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig, Solange, Toro y Moi and LCD Soundsystem’s Pat Mahoney. “The important lesson we learned as Chromeo is that we can’t afford to make our music in a vacuum,” they explain. “We’re part of a conversation. That’s why Soko is in our video, why A$AP Ferg is in our video, why Chaz [Bundick, Toro y Moi] is on our album.”

To coincide with their current tour across Europe and North America in support of the album, we’ve got five copies of the record to give away on super-snazzy 12” vinyl. To be in with a chance of winning one of them, simply sign up to our mailing list, follow us on Twitter or Facebook, or send us a tweet using the form below. The closing date for entries is Friday 4th July.

You can also watch the video for their newest single, ‘Jealous (I Ain’t With It)’ below.
