Hailing from Toronto, mythologically named outfit Zeus manage to pull off a rootsy southern sound, with bluesy guitars and harmonic vocals that fall into the category of bands that came and went within the 1970’s. A category that can’t really be divided into just one genre, pre-dating punk and falling somewhere between rock and pop, looking up to bands such as ELO and 10cc, and even Mountain perhaps, when Zeus are at their heaviest.
The band will release their second LP ‘Busting Visions’ through So Recordings in August, following the lead single release of ‘Are You Gonna Waste My Time?’ which tends to spark reminders of The Who’s ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’ in places, led by three, yes three, lead singers. There’s no denying that here stands a band to keep an eye on in the future. But for now, let’s just enjoy their dream pop / driving rock hit potential.
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
