Interview Operahouse

‘It’s over when someone dies.’

London-based quartet Operahouse are due to release their single ‘Born A Boy’ on 28th January. As way of introduction to the band, we thought we’d drop them a few questions, however brief their answers might be…

Does your name mean you’re all classically trained bona fide musicians?
No.

What is your single ‘Born A Boy’ about?
Wasted opportunities and chances.

It’s released through Marrakesh Records - have any of you ever been to Morocco?
Yes, both Johnny and Jimmy have been to Marrakesh.

You have a previous single called ‘Man Next Door’. Would you like to tell us something about your neighbours?
They never liked Johnny and Alex when they lived together, they were nearly evicted for noise against the environment!

You are from Camden, and so are new British hip-hoppers N-Dubz. What else do you have in common with them?
Nothing - They might drink in the same pubs?

How was the support tour with Tokyo Police Club?
Great, they were really good to us and they’re a great band.

What’s (literally) next for Operahouse?
Tonight’s gig! January and February tour and release of ‘Born A Boy’ on January 28th.

And finally, is it all over when the fat lady sings?
It’s over when someone dies.
