Celebrating 10 years of DIY, featuring James Murphy, Animal Collective, Blur, Bloc Party, Two Door Cinema Club and more.

Ten years is a very long time. Back in 2002 - when DIY first came kicking and screaming on to the web - we were scribbling about Ikara Colt, The Electric Soft Parade and The Cooper Temple Clause. Interpol were a band with a pretty great debut album and heaps of potential, and everyone still loved The Vines.

If we were going to put one man on the cover of our 10th birthday issue, it was always going to be James Murphy. The quintessential icon of the last ten years, there are few others who sum up just how far we’ve all come. Plus the new film ‘Shut Up And Play The Hits’, documenting the final days of LCD Soundsystem, is awesome.

Elsewhere we’ll be asking have we really seen the end of Blur, talking to Bloc Party about their new record ‘Four’, wondering if Pussy Riot are the most important band in the world right now, and asking you (yes, you!) what’s your favourite Green Day album.

There’s also interviews with Two Door Cinema Club, Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear and Lucy Rose, we introduce you to your favourite band you haven’t heard yet, Lemuria, and give the verdict on new albums from The xx, Jens Lekman and Toy.
