Win a VIP package to the 2021 Hyundai Mercury Prize awards show

As we know, this year’s edition of the Hyundai Mercury Prize is set to look a little different, but to mark the occasion - and look ahead to the future all at the same time - we’re teaming up with Hyundai to offer one of our lucky readers a very special VIP package, and the chance to head to the 2021 Hyundai Mercury Prize awards show.

Fancy heading to next year’s ceremony to celebrate the best of British music, and see which of the shortlisted artists picks up the coveted prize? One lucky reader and a friend will be able to head to event, where they’ll be given a pair of tickets to watch the show that’s set to include performances from a selection of the shortlisted artists. You’ll also be able to stay the night in the capital at a 4* London hotel and given £250 spending money for your trip, as well as being transferred to and from the event, too.

And that’s not all: as we’re unable to send you to celebrate this year’s edition of the Hyundai Mercury Prize, we’ll also include a copy of each of this year’s shortlisted albums on vinyl, giving you the chance to properly dig into all of those incredible records. The VIP prize package is available exclusively to DIY readers courtesy of Hyundai.

To be in with a chance of winning, all you have to do is answer the below question. The competition will close on Wednesday 30th September at 12pm, and the winner will be contacted via email the following day. Please see below for additional terms and conditions.

1 x prize will be available to win, comprising of:

· A pair of tickets to the 2021 Hyundai Mercury Prize

· 1 night 4* hotel accommodation, based on twin / double occupancy (including breakfast) at a hotel chosen by the Promoter

· Return hotel and event transfers

· £250 spending money to cover travel to London and other expenses

· 12 x Albums shortlisted for the 2020 Hyundai Mercury Prize on 12-inch LP Vinyl

Mandatory T&Cs for Hyundai Mercury Prize ticket promotions.

The winner must be aged 18 or over.

The event is intended to take place in London in September 2021 (“Event”). The winner will be informed of the confirmed date in August 2021.

The winner and their guest will be subject to the terms and conditions that apply to the tickets for the Hyundai Mercury Prize being the Mercury Prize Ticket T&Cs which can be viewed at https://www.mercuryprize.com/terms-conditions in the run up to the Event and the full terms and conditions of the Venue which can be viewed on the Venue’s website.

No one under the age of 16 will be admitted to the Event. People who are 16 or 17 years old will only be admitted to the Event with an accompanying adult (i.e. a person aged 18 years and over).

The winner’s full name, contact number and email address will be shared Hyundai’s service provider The Big Group Limited for the purposes of fulfilling the prize.

Neither the Ticket Holder nor any person associated with them (other than Mercury Prize Ltd or its agents) is entitled to assign, donate, transfer or otherwise dispose of the Ticket itself or any rights arising from the Ticket to any third party. In particular, but without limitation, a Ticket Holder may not:

- sell, resell, expose, offer or make available for sale, auction, donate or otherwise dispose of Ticket(s) in any manner or place whatsoever, including, without limitation, online via an online auction website or online ticket resale marketplace; and/or

- transfer or use a Ticket for:
a) advertising, sales or promotional purposes;
b) premium give-aways, competitions, prize draws or sweepstakes; or
c) hospitality or travel packages.

MPL reserves the right at any time, and under its sole discretion, to withdraw, cancel, amend or void any Ticket issued to the Event.

If a Ticket is declared void or if a Ticket Holder is refused admission or removed from the Event because of a breach of the Mercury Prize Ticket T&Cs or of the Venue Conditions, no money shall be refunded.

By being present at the Event, Ticket Holders consent to being filmed and/or recorded. Ticket Holders also agree not to assert any moral (or similar) rights and give all necessary consents under the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988 (as amended) and all other applicable legislation in respect of any film and/or recordings. MPL is entitled to make full use of any film and/or recording in all current and future media worldwide without any liability or payment to Ticket Holders, including permitting others to do the same.
