News Eminem Announced As Reading & Leeds 2013 Headliner

First headliner is announced for next year’s summer festival.

Zane Lowe announced tonight that Eminem will be the first headliner of Reading & Leeds Festival 2013.

The initial line-up includes Deftones, Sub Focus and Alt-J, but tonight the 2013 bill got a whole lot bigger. Marshall Bruce Mathers III a.k.a. Eminem is set to release an as-yet untitled eighth album next year as well as continuing with acting work, Shady Records and his own radio station Shade 45.

A £50 deposit scheme has come into place for the festival in 2013 so fans can secure a place before paying in full in March 2013. Tickets are available to purchase via this deposit or in full now at 2012 prices until the end of the month.

Last month it was announced that Reading & Leeds had added three more stages to the August bank holiday event including a 1xtra stage showcasing grime, hip hop and other urban genres, plus a dedicated dance tent. Festival organiser Melvin Benn has stated: 'There will quite a bit more dance music, quite a bit more other bits and pieces.'
