Listen: Girl Ray have unveiled new track ‘Stupid Things’

They’ve also announced a headline show at the London’s Lexington.
After giving us ‘Trouble’ last year, North London-based trio Girl Ray are back with a brand new track.
‘Stupid Things’ is another harmony-heavy slab of alt-pop from the group It’s a lilting and wistful little number that’s got some classic piano chords but also floats lightly like a breeze.
Lead vocalist and guitarist Poppy Hankin explained the track in a statement: “It’s about crushing really hard on someone, and finding myself doing fucking ridiculous things to feel like we’ve got some kind of connection. Watching films that they mentioned fleetingly or ordering their favourite drink at a bar. Very stupid but happens every single time, ha ha”. Yep, we’ve all been there.
The band are currently on tour with Moshi Moshi labelmates Teleman, but they’ve also announced their biggest headline show to date! They’ll be playing at The Lexington in London on 23rd May.
