Listen: Caroline Polachek Shares Ramona Lisa’s ‘Backwards And Upwards’

Caroline Polachek of Chairlift is embarking on a solo album. So far she’s unveiled the record’s title track ‘Arcadia’, which was swarmed in insect creatures and MIDI keyboard tones.

New song ‘Backwards and Upwards’ has more of a streamlined pace to it, but it still continues to make intentionally ugly sounds come off like a source of strange beauty. Recorded in Rome last year, ‘Arcadia’ is released on 14th April through Bella Union-associated label Pannonica.

The video for ‘Backwards and Upwards’ pits the ‘hot dogs or legs’ meme into a church setting. Curious.
