News Listen: HOCKEYSMITH Stream Debut Track, ‘Now I Want To’
A floaty, fog-heavy first work introduces UK artist HOCKEYSMITH.
A debut song has emerged from UK newcomer HOCKEYSMITH. Location doesn't go beyond 'Britain' and info's scarce beyond this first work, 'Now I Want To'.
They're a duo of sisters, based in a caravan park in Cornwall. Aside from that, nothing. We're left with this debut song, wispy and swept up in the kind of sea mist prone to sinking over the South West coast. Few contemporaries can be called upon. Grouper, at a push, just in the way that the song floats over the consciousness, wrapping some genuinely pounding, powerful ideas in a warming, nerve-shredding ether.
