News New Phoenix Album Due In April 2013?

The band’s record label boss sheds some light on their next release.

It seems as though Phoenix’s fifth studio album is due for release in 2013.

Speaking at a Spotify event yesterday (6th December), the boss of Glassnote Records, Daniel Glass, revealed the French quartet would release their fifth studio album in April next year. The album has reportedly been completed in Paris, where the conference took place, and the band are set to make an official announcement shortly.

The LP will follow up their 2009 effort ‘Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix’, which won the four-piece a Grammy for ‘Best Alternative Music Album’.

Whilst no specific details have been confirmed, the band’s website bears an image depicting ‘TPC’, alongside the title ‘Album In Progress’. Could this be the title of the forthcoming album?

The band also spoke to Pedestrain.tv last year (via Consequence of Sound) and described their latest effort as “nostalgic,” “futuristic,” “experimental,” and “minimal.”

Phoenix's fifth studio album will be released next year through Glassnote Records.
