DIY presents: Porij, Miso Extra, Grandmas House and more to play DIY and the Old Blue Last’s Hello 2022!

Tuesdays in January just got a whole lot more exciting.

Get your diaries out and cancel any plans you might have for the Tuesday nights of January because we’re heading back to the Old Blue Last with a raft of buzzy new talents in tow.

Having taken our annual start-of-year showcase online for 2021, we’ll be back IRL in the new year for Hello 2022: four nights of new music, costing you absolutely zero pennies, in the heart of Shoreditch.

The second week (11th January) will bring you a heavy-hitting line up topped by English-Japanese rapper Miso Extra. Joining her will be buzzy R&B singer (and sister of Mercury-nominated Berwyn) Chrissi, pop genre-blurrer Joey Maxwell and south London hip hop collective Nukuluk.

Originally set to be night one (4th January), but rearranged to Monday 17th January because of the dreaded ‘vid, Bristol grunge-punks Grandmas House will take to the stage, with visceral Londoner Nuha Ruby Ra, London four-piece Legss and enticing newcomer Heartworms in tow.

Week three (18th January) will also see European electronic disruptors The Umlauts line up with recent Class of 2022 enrolees English Teacher, Brighton gang KEG and cerebral Manchester newbies Mewn.

And for your fourth and final night (25th January), we’ll be closing out proceedings with another Class of 2022 band - Porij, experimental Londoners Modern Woman, electronic producer Glows and glitch pop duo Robbie & Mona.

All shows, as always, are free entry and you can sign up for tickets via Dice on the links below.

Note: entry is on a first come, first served basis and a ticket does not guarantee entry. You’ll also be required to show proof of a negative lateral flow test upon entry, so keep a few of those bad boys in stock for the new year.

2022 might still be looking weird then, but it’s sounding amazing.
