News Sonic Youth To Release Album On Matador
Sonic Youth will be releasing their next album, due in 2009, through independent label Matador - their first link up with an indie since the seminal ‘Daydream Nation’ in 1988.

The record will be released by the label 'all worldwide territories, save for Japan' and, according to Norwegian newspaper Dagsavisen, may be titled 'The Eternal'. Recording is set to begin this autumn, with a trio of Italian dates next month:

The band will be joining a roster that includes the likes of Stephen Malkmus And The Jicks, Cat Power and Fucked Up.
