Latitude 2016: The Magic Gang

Powering through fan favourites and showing off brand new material, The Magic Gang are nothing short of, well, magic.

“We’ve been here all weekend and we’re absolutely loving it,” Jack Kaye exclaims as the group start their set. If the cheers that follow are to be taken as any indication, then everyone present is equally as enamoured. Performing to a crowd that fits near perfectly into the tent, their showcase approached sublimity.

‘She Doesn’t See’, ‘Jasmine’ and ‘All That I Want Is You’ all receive rapturous applause, but it’s a testament to the band’s status that their new music is met with just as much frivolity.

Levity is exactly what The Magic Gang provide. Upbeat and contagious, their blissful melodies and addictive choruses are even brighter than on record. Inhibitions are danced into oblivion, and what follows is sheer infatuation.

“A lot of friends got bitten by mosquitos,” the group declare mid-set. “I actually got bitten on the forehead.” “But has anyone heard our EP?”

Ending on genuine declaration of how much it means to see so many people gathered before them, the group tear through the already adored ‘Alright’, ‘Feeling Better’, and ‘No Fun’, inciting elation in everyone gathered.

If there’s one thing to take from this performance, it’s how good everyone is left feeling - for sun kissed joviality, it’d be hard to find anyone better.
