Backed by echo-drenched guitars and smoky electronics, the 22-year-old lists everything she can’t be - “a faceless lover”, “a freak you fuck with” - like she’s peering into snapshots of other people’s lives. Insecurities laid bare, the trick is in how ‘Girls Who Get Ready’ turns into a source of empowerment. For someone just starting out, Cosima has an incredible knack for squeezing deep stories into three-minute pop songs.
