Queens of the Stone Age return with brand new single ‘Easy Street’
The band’s new track follows on from last year’s ‘Alive in the Catacombs’ and their 2023 album ‘In Times New Roman…’.

Queens of the Stone Age have returned with their first new music in three years.
The legendary rock band - who are currently in the midst of a tour alongside metal outfit System of a Down - have offered up their first new music since the release of their 2023 album ‘In Times New Roman…’ (not counting last year’s atmospheric Parisian release, ‘Alive In The Catacombs’), in the form of ‘Easy Street’.
An admittedly lighter offering than we’re used to from the titans, the track also features an appearance from singer Nikki Lane, who adds a further levity to the whole thing. “It’s kind of a funny song. It’s like hitting your funny bone, where it’s funny because it hurts and it hurts because it’s funny. You’re serious, but it’s funny,” the band’s Josh Homme has said, of the song. “We made it the way you’d make a demo. No click track, mistakes left in. It speeds up, it slows down, the claps aren’t great, but they’re not bad, and a bad clap adds this human thing you can’t fake. It’s not just about silliness. It’s about understanding the imperfection of your life. The song, like your life, is in the mistakes. Its imperfections are unbeatable.”
As well as the track itself, the band have shared a decidedly surreal video clip to accompany it, as directed by Tony Wolski and Christopher Gruse, and inspired by an idea from Josh - who is, unsurprisingly, the clip’s main protagonist. Watch it below.
As mentioned, the band are currently out on the road alongside System of a Down, and will join Foo Fighters for a series of shows later this summer. Check out their upcoming live schedule below.
