James Murphy Produces His Own Speciality Coffee Brand
Instant coffee I love you, but you’re bringing me down.

Less ‘Nescafe I love you, but you’re bringing me down’ and more just the result of his own curiosity, James Murphy (of LCD Soundsystem) has used his recent free time to start a new speciality coffee brand.
This project runs separate to writing plays and trying to turn New York’s subway system into a symphony (just a couple of intriguing projects he’s taken to post-LCD).
Teaming up with Blue Bottle Coffee Company founder James Freeman, the coffee is called House Of Good, which is sort of disappointing given the various LCD song title pun opportunities. Still, its taste is the most important. Blue Bottle cite a concoction of ‘dried cherry, cocoa, meyer lemon – is a harmony between the voluptuous and the austere: It’s akin to the second movement of Carl Nielsen’s Symphony No. 3 – or, perhaps, to that buzzing, syncopated synth line from ’Dance Yrself Clean.’ Depends on which James you ask.’
A batch (1 lb) is priced at $26.00.
