Toronto R&B lothario The Weeknd has seemingly followed in the footsteps of some really desperate classic-rock bands by auditioning for a live guitarist and bassist via the internet.
Posting on his official Facebook page, the singer and producer wrote:
‘The Weeknd is looking for a professional guitarist and bass player in or around the Toronto area to travel and perform live in concert. Those interested please send all information to:
[email protected]
Include: name, age, instrument, and a photograph if possible. Any additional youtube video footage, credentials, etc. of performer is welcome.
Serious inquiries only please.

It’s unclear if the Facebook event is legitimate or a Bloc Party-esque gag but at least it hints that Tesfaye will be touring sometime soon. He’ll also be getting more than a few not-so-serious inquiries in his inbox come the morning.
Well, you know how that age-old non-saying goes: ‘Born via the internet, Live via the internet’. Or something to that effect.
