Reading & Leeds 2014 60 Seconds With… Bondax

The Bondax boys are super busy at the moment, but that doesn’t mean they can’t spare 60 seconds ahead of Reading & Leeds…

Prior to their lengthy autumn / winter UK tour, and the release of their new single ‘All I See’ on 28th September, this weekend Bondax will be be playing near the top of the bill at Reading & Leeds Festival, on the BBC Radio 1 Dance Stage alongside Klaxons, Flume and AlunaGeorge - and they’re very excited. Adam Kaye and George Townsend spare 60 seconds to answer a few pre-festival questions.

You’re playing Reading & Leeds this weekend. Are you planning anything special for your sets?
Yes, well be bringing our live set over to you so were excited to perform a slightly more authentic version of our music.

You played last year too. How was it?
They were both completely mad so hopefully we can follow it up, haha.

Have you been to Reading & Leeds before as a fan?
Yes, George has twice: Arctic Monkeys in 2009 has to be my most vivid memory, so looking forward to hopefully catching them this year again.

What do you think about the (fairly new) introduction of a dance tent, is it a good way to bring the genre more into what’s traditionally a ‘rock’ festival?
I think it’s merely because dance music has become to popular to ignore at such a large festival nowadays. Whether that’s a good thing, that’s for the people to decide…

Is there anyone playing the dance tent you’d especially recommend people to go see?
On the dance stage we’d recommend seeing Flume, he always puts on an exciting show! He’ll probably have his infinity prism with him which is pretty mad!

Who are you most looking forward to seeing yourself?
Really excited to see Kwabs on the 1xtra stage, his voice is unbelievable especially live! Jungle on the NME stage too, we’ve played many of the same festivals as them this summer but managed to miss them every time and were big fans!

Finally, what have you got planned for beyond Reading & Leeds?
We have our Bondax and friends mix compilation coming out in September which we’re excited to release! Also in September/October were touring around Australia, se Asia and America which we’re very excited about, and our studio album will be out next year!

Reading & Leeds will take place from 22nd - 24th August.
