Not many bands these days can claim that they are truly unique. However if you walked in on a Flamingods live show or heard one of their recordings you’d be very quick to conclude how different they are to most bands filling the ones to watch columns. In fact, the closest resemblance to Flamingods that you might have encountered would most likely be some kind of carnival ensemble dancing their way down dusty cobbled streets in a tropical country. It’s true.

Originating from Bahrain the now London based five piece are quite simply one of the most fascinating new acts around. Their live show revolves around the members sitting on tribal rugs immersing themselves in the performance shaking and hitting their instruments, whilst their songs sound like a cultural voyage of rhythmic music, spanning several genres and eras all at once. Flamingods put emphasis on flowing pieces of improvised ongoing music with instruments looping in and out, adding energy and life to the art of repetition.

Flamingods will release their debut album ‘Sun’ next year through Art Is Hard records - it’ll be the labels first album release. Since their existence Art Is Hard records have produced some of the more thought-provoking ways of releasing music, which is precisely why them and Flamingods are a match made in heaven.
