Lana Del Rey AKA Lizzy Grant is dreamy, dark and oh so sexy, and her voice isn’t bad either. The 24-year-old New York native describes herself as the ‘gangsta Nancy Sinatra’ and we can’t help but agree with her there. Effortlessly combining hip-hop, pop and 50’s ballads, she provides us with great beats, a distinct sound, and wonderfully catchy songs. A former jazz singer, her sultry voice caresses the listener with, simultaneously, an air of Hollywood glamour and that of dark, dirty pop.
We’ve currently only been blessed with five of this mega-babe’s tracks - all available to check out online, and all bloody good. A particular standout track is ‘Video Games’, which is ridiculously catchy and undoubtedly great. Obviously very creative, she also makes her own music videos – all similarly of a cut and paste style, flitting between clips of her favourite films, icons, cartoons and her pouty self.
Though currently unsigned, she’s in discussion with major labels, as well as Mark Ronson’s ‘Allido’ and Lily Allen’s ‘In The Name Of‘, which is sure to result in the launch and massive take off of her musical career. Trust us, Miss LDR is going to be big.
