Lana Del Rey drops surprise new single ‘White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter’
Earlier this month, the star announced that her next album is due in (roughly) three months time…

Lana Del Rey is back, having just released a brand new single entitled ‘White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter’. Taking cues from its name, the track is a suitably Gothic storybook affair, flitting between breathy delivery, suspenseful strings, and an almost musical theatre-like vocal cadence that casts Lana as a sort of devilishly alluring Disney villain.
Written in collaboration with her sister Chuck Grant, brother-in-law Jason Pickens, and husband Jeremy Dufrene, this latest offering was once again produced by her longstanding collaborator Jack Antonoff, and is accompanied by a self-shot music video that arrives tomorrow (18th February).
‘White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter’ is Lana’s first new music since April last year, when she dropped a pair of standalone singles (‘Henry, come on’ and ‘Bluebird’). Since then (if not before), fans have been eagerly awaiting her next full-length project - the follow up to 2023’s ‘Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd’, which the star said in a recent Instagram story (posted on 7th February) will be released in approximately three months time.
It’s perhaps best not to mark your calendars just yet though; after all, Lana did announce back in November 2024 that her nebulous tenth album - ostensibly called ‘The right person will stay’ - would come out last May. So maybe just watch this space…
In the meantime, though, you can watch the video for ‘White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter’ and check out its artwork below.
