The album version of Swim Deep’s new ‘King City’ single is out 22nd July via Chess Club / RCA. We’re being made to keep our patience for the accompanying video, filmed out in the US desert last month. But the band kindly gave us some exclusive shots of the clip’s filming, with Zachary Robinson from the group providing a running commentary of the B-town four-piece’s out-West escapades.
Just looking at that shirt trips me out, We drove to the desert in 50 degree heat and got given a pink umbrella to keep us cool, which did shit all to be fair. I think this is probably my favourite scene in the video, especially birdie pop’s hand break turn.
We got warned about the rattle snakes in the grass when we got to the desert but I was more freaked out at how many times Cav nearly took me out with that umbrella. But fair play, he did keep grip on it for most of the time.
Trippy American diner. Classic gross American burgers. Classic great American milkshakes.
This was our first time to a beach in America - we didn’t think we’d need fur coats and hats. I remember we all felt quite bad that the chick in the video had to fully dunk underwater in the sea. Oh, and on our way back up the beach we saw a pretty sick house party happening in one of the apartments along the seafront, I dared one of the guys to knock but they did’nt.
